How We Protect Your Property During Construction

Your home is an investment, and we treat your property with the same respect we show your roof and siding. Exterior renovations usually involve heavy materials and demolition. To keep your home, lawn, landscaping, and driveway safe, we implement strict property protection measures on every job site.

It all begins with an interactive walkabout of your home’s exterior. If there are wind chimes or plants hanging from your soffit or gutters, for example, they could potentially get damaged by falling debris or hung up in tall boards. We invite you to remove them prior to the start of work. We will mention those types of details while on-site or later once we review the photographs we take during our review. Many times, yard art or irrigation heads could potentially be in the way of equipment or foot traffic. In those cases, we will mark them if needed or invite you to move them if possible. Even interior wall pictures or Grandma's crystal gravy bowl could accidentally vibrate off a shelf and onto the floor. We are not on your roof jumping up and down, but some strange phenomena can happen, and we prefer to prevent surprises before they occur.

We rig heavy-duty plastic tarps from the roofline down over the siding, bushes, and delicate landscaping to catch falling tear-off debris. Our dump trailers are placed on plywood sheeting, never directly on bare asphalt or concrete, to prevent cracks and scuffs. Plywood sheeting is placed over exterior air conditioning units, low-hanging light fixtures, deck surfaces, and basement windows in high-impact drop zones. Throughout the workday and again at final cleanup, our crew runs commercial-grade rolling magnets across your grass, flowerbeds, and driveway to capture stray nails, staples, or metal bits.

Like we always say, "Most clients cannot get on top of their roof to inspect our work, but they can surely judge our work by the clean-up we leave behind."
